It is recorded in Wikipedia… “Her work on the landmines issue has been described as influential in the signing of the Ottawa Treaty, which strived to create an international ban on the use of anti-personal landmines.”
The objective was to create a global ban on landmines. But after her death, the political world ran for cover and discarded this urgent objective. And true to form, coward Vladimir Putin, authorized the murder of men, women and children by use of mines.
An inferior thinking idiot, Earl Howe an official in the British Ministry of Defence complained about Princess Diana’s effort to ban landmines. Howe true to his whinging incompetent mentality did nothing to support the banning of landmines.
The Ottawa Treaty failed to gain 100% Global support. Many countries signed but not enough to ban landmines. Gunrunning is big business. Money is more important to countries and greedy individuals than saving lives.
The United Nations failed to ban landmines.
