UK: Electric Car Charging Costs Soar… Warning to the World

BBC News posts newsflash dated 26th May 2022, titled ‘Electric car rapid charging costs soar, says RAC’.

“The cost of rapidly charging an electric car has risen sharply as energy costs soar, the RAC has said.” (i)

Allan Ivarsson comments… The RAC is in the UK, the ‘Royal Automobile Club’.

“However, electric car charging still remains cheaper than petrol and diesel, the motoring organisation said.” (i)

A.I. comments… If Electric Cars succeed in getting rid of all Petroleum and Diesel Car Engine Competition, the gate will be opened, motivated by greed, for charging costs of EV’s to rapidly rise higher.

“Rises in electricity and gas prices, in part since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, are behind the increased charging costs.” (i)

A.I. comments… In other words, ‘Renewable Energy’ is not making energy cheaper.

“But fuel prices have gone up more quickly as crude oil suppliers struggle to meet demand”. (i)

A.I. comments… That is what happens when crude oil supplies are disrupted by war.

The interesting RAC reports reveals the differences between rapid charging, home charging and ultra-rapid charges. Read the report to learn the detail observations.

This is a UK view on EV’s but the technical cost problems exist in every country striving to bully people into converting to own an ‘Electric Car’. And then there is the danger that no one talks about.

“Electric cars also usually cost thousands of pounds more than their petrol or diesel counterparts.” (i)

“This is because EV batteries are expensive to make and a high level of investment is needed to transform existing factory production lines to manufacture the new technology.” (i)

“However, costs are expected to come down in the near future: industry group the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders forecasts electric and internal combustion engine cars should cost roughly the same “by the end of this decade.” (i)

“Melanie Shufflebotham, co-founder of Zap Map, said: “More electric cars need to be produced at a mid-price range, with the cost of living crisis it’s going to be really hard for many people to buy a new car but there are subscription models.” (i)

“There should be price parity for EV cars by 2025 as the price of batteries comes down“. (i)

“Though costs are up, EV drivers are feeling happy they’re saving even when charging on the most expensive public charging spots when compared to fossil fuels,” she added. (i)

A.I. comments… it does not mention the danger of Lithium Batteries used for Electric Cars. And it assumes costs will come down. Don’t count on it… Greed Rules.

And it ignores the superior safer CO2 Clean Energy Technology far better than Petroleum, Diesel and Electric Charging.

Allan Ivarsson 2022 (now 73 years of age.)

Ps. Buy an electric car, if you want it, but expect the unexpected, to survive the problems.
